Summit Tutoring is the perfect part-time job for those who love connecting with children and teenagers, are passionate about education, and find true enjoyment in helping others.

Summit Tutoring can fit around your schedule, even if you have a full-time job, are busy with family commitments, or simply enjoy a schedule packed with hobbies.  Tutoring sessions are 90 minutes, occur mostly on weekday evenings or weekends, and can be scheduled directly between you and your students.

This work is challenging, fun, and rewarding.  As a Summit tutor you will help students reach their potential and open doors for them.  You will be making a true difference in the lives of the students and families you work with.

Summit staff will provide you with training, materials, and a constant support system, to ensure you are able to perform at your best.  We are here to help you with tutoring questions as well as any logistic concerns that arise.  We take care of client recruiting and billing and keep you informed of the latest news in the test prep world so that you are free to focus on what you do best:  tutoring.

Requirements

Summit Educational Group is seeking a bright, energetic, engaging Program Director for our White Plains office who has outstanding communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in the tutoring and test prep world. In a smart, fun, and growing company environment, the selected individual will manage the program and service needs of a group of Summit’s discerning clients, from initial contact through post-program follow-up. Our clients come to us with high expectations for their experience, and we aim to exceed those expectations. The individual will also match tutors to students and participate in the recruiting, management, and ongoing evaluation and support of Summit’s cohort of educators.

For this client- and tutor-facing position, we seek candidates who want to support the efforts of a boutique tutoring firm, add to the company’s growth, and be recognized for their contributions.

Specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

• Serve as case manager for each family that commits to working with Summit, providing thoughtful and proactive pre- through post-program service
• Help families to navigate the test-taking process and to customize tutoring programs to the needs of each student
• Develop rapport and working relationships with families and tutors through frequent phone and email check-ins
• Carefully match students with the “right” tutors
• Monitor tutor and client interactions, lessons, homework assignments, practice tests, progress and other program details, and proactively become involved as warranted
• Provide tutors with advice, feedback, coaching and support
• Maintain meticulous written and electronic records of all interactions and program details
• Market Summit services to prospective clients and cross-sell additional services to existing clients
• Gain intimate knowledge of standardized tests and Summit’s tutoring programs
• Assist in development of divisional strategic plan
• Cultivate relationships with Summit’s referral base

Professional Qualifications
The desired candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally from a selective college
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently in a fast-paced environment
• Sense of urgency and drive for results
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and experience with databases and company intranets
• Experience in the test-prep and academic tutoring fields (preferred)

Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Human Resources Administrator will maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices. Administering existing HR programs and initiatives and assisting with the development of new programs and initiatives will be the primary focus of the job.

Specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • Programs and Processes: Assist with and manage the planning and delivery of programs to include: performance management process, compensation practices, employee training, health & safety, salary administration, job description updates, ensure all proper documentation is completed and records filed, creation of training manuals and an HR process manual.
  • Recruitment: Support recruiting efforts by assisting Tutor and Teacher Services department.
  • Coordinate Onboarding, including new hire paperwork, and new hire orientation meetings.
  • HRIS Administration: Act as primary point person for the administration of outsourced HRIS system and seek continuous improvement for efficient management of personnel records
  • Benefits Administration: Administer and communicate benefits to employees, serving as liaison between insurance carriers and employees. Maintain related records. Communication with benefit providers and filing claims for LTD, Workers Comp, and Life Insurance claims. Analyze and provide advice to supervisors and managers company-wide on methods and approaches to resolve employee benefit problems and best practices relating to Employee/ Employer Health Benefits.
  • Support Culture: Support a culture that promotes learning, creative thinking, collaboration, growth and excellence across the organization. Respond to the needs of managers and staff across the organization, support communication and teamwork, and increase morale and retention. Act as office on-site events coordinator.
  • Policy Support: Provide day-to-day direction across the organization to ensure HR policies and practices are consistently applied and compliant with all federal and multiple state employment and employee relations statutes and regulatory requirements
  • Employee Relations Support: Work with managers to resolve employee relations issues; consult with outside legal counsel and expert human resource consultants, as necessary.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years applicable experience, familiarity with all HR functions a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in cross-functional groups

Reporting to the Marketing Director, this creative Marketing Project Manager will manage day-to-day responsibilities of marketing programs to drive brand awareness and to improve business results. He/She will apply creative thinking to develop new programs in collaboration with team members.

Specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute internal and external marketing projects.
  • Create marketing content for both print and web. Write copy and design print materials. Update content as needed.
  • Design and execute direct mail campaigns. Coordinate with vendors including list brokers and printers. Manage and reconcile the postage account for all mailings.
  • Create registration forms and information sheets used for marketing classroom programs.
  • Create new marketing materials to support new initiatives.
  • Oversee the schedule of all assigned projects. Manage the review and approval process. Hire outside vendors as needed.
  • Maintain and update company website including the management of our online store. Work with Marketing Director on digital marketing initiatives including SEO and paid search.
  • Manage the company blog. Write content and manage content written by both internal and external resources.
  • Manage outside resources including graphic designers, writers, printers, fulfillment houses, and proofreaders. Ensure projects meet our high standards and are delivered on-time and on-budget.

Skills & Qualifications –

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven writing skills. Knowledge and application of English grammar.
  • Experience with WordPress and WooCommerce
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in cross-functional groups

Education and experience
