Meet some of our expert tutors:

  • Benjamin Park
    Benjamin Park

    Ben Park graduated from MIT with dual degrees in physics and music. Since then he has focused on music composition and is currently working on his doctorate at the New England Conservatory. In addition to writing music and tutoring and teaching for Summit, Ben also enjoys hiking and baking (though usually not at the same time).

  • Carol Margolis
    Carol Margolis

    Carol Margolis received a BA in English and American Literature from Harvard University, and an MAT in Secondary English Education from Washington University. She teaches English at Dedham High School, and has tutored for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and subject tests for Summit. In her free time, Carol enjoys traveling and going to the theater.

  • Erin Sinclair
    Erin Sinclair

    Erin Sinclair graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She later earned her Master of Education in School Counseling from Boston University. Currently, Erin is a high school guidance counselor and also tutors students for the ISEE, SSAT, and SAT. Erin enjoys running; she has completed 7 half marathons to date and looks forward to her next one this October.

  • Natalie Harrington
    Natalie Harrington

    Natalie Harrington received her BA in Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences from Wellesley College. She loves to keep busy: she currently works as a Manager at Johnson String
    Instrument in addition to her part-time role as a One-on-One tutor at Summit. In her spare time Natalie enjoys writing, riding her motorcycle, and traveling to car shows around the country.

  • Susan Dane
    Susan Dane

    Susan has been tutoring for Summit since 2010 in all areas of the SAT, ACT, and SSAT.
    She completed undergraduate studies at UMass Amherst, and is now pursuing a graduate degree in Art Education. She enjoys sewing, quilting, and a variety of other creative pursuits.

  • Michaela Copenhaver
    Michaela Copenhaver

    Michaela is a graduate of Princeton University with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She began tutoring with Summit in 2014. Charming and expert, she takes an engineer’s approach to tutoring, creating systems for solving problems. Outside of Summit, she is a full-time competitive rower and holds a world record for indoor rowing as well as several national titles. Her hobbies include running, baking, and reading.

  • Irene Eide
    Irene Eide

    Irene earned her B.A. at Middlebury College, where she studied Political Science, Classics, and Italian. Since 2004, she has taught and tutored a wide range of subjects, including Italian, Biology, and Philosophy. Irene joined Summit in 2011 and employs a calm, straightforward, and adaptable teaching style. She has high expectations of her students, but is also sympathetic because they can be so busy. She is a mother who enjoys outdoor activities (sailing, rowing, etc.), cooking, and classical music.

  • Alex Whittlesey
    Alex Whittlesey

    Alex graduated from McGill University with a B.Com. in Finance, and later earned an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut. A Business Analyst at HomeServe USA, he began working for Summit for 2012 because he found it rewarding to help students succeed in achieving their college admissions goals. Fun, easy to relate to, and methodical, he likes to break concepts down for students so that they can get to the root of each question. Alex is a dad and is proficient in Portuguese.

  • Samir Youssef
    Samir Youssef

    Samir earned his B.S. and M.S. in Optical Sciences & Engineering from the University of Arizona. A Senior Design Engineer at ASML, he has tutored SAT/ACT Math as well as Physics and other academic subjects with Summit since 2014. Samir is respectful, confident, and detail-oriented. He is a supportive and patient tutor who provides guidance as needed to build students’ confidence in their own potential.

  • Roni Weiss
    Roni Weiss

    Roni graduated from the University of Washington with dual degrees in English and Drama at the age of 18. A Summit tutor since 2013, he has taught test prep classes at Rye Country Day, Rippowam Cisqua, and New Canaan Country School. With his personable and flexible teaching style, he has helped students in NY and CT achieve their potential on a variety of tests. Outside of his work with Summit, Roni is a social media/marketing consultant and event producer in the travel industry and runs Travel Unity, a nonprofit focused on increasing diversity in the travel space. He has traveled to over 70 countries, including every country in Europe.

  • Lauren Doolan
    Lauren Doolan

    Lauren is from Peabody, Massachusetts where she’s worked as a tutor for Summit since 2012. She has a BA in writing, literature, and publishing from Emerson College and an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Over the past decade, she’s worked in after school programs, adult education classes, and several bookstores, doing everything from teaching grammar and punctuation to ESL students to showing seventh graders how to make tacos. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.

  • Alex Olkovsky
    Alex Olkovsky Tutor

    Alex has been working as a verbal and history tutor for Summit since 2017. They have a B.A. and M.A. in American Studies, and are working on a PhD at Boston University. In their free time, they knit, watch TV cooking competitions, and take their rambunctious dog for walks.

  • Ken Yee
    Ken Yee

    Ken is a retired math teacher and administrator with over 30 years of experience in education. He is passionate about motivating students to love math. A graduate of Boston Latin School and Harvard College, he taught math at his alma mater, BLS, and other Boston Public Schools. He was assistant principal at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton for 18 years before his retirement. In the years since retirement, he has tutored in the subjects of algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, pre-calculus, SAT prep, ACT prep, GRE prep, and GMAT prep. He has been with Summit since 2017. His other interests are soccer, tennis, and travels.

  • Roel Rodriguez
    Roel Rodriguez Tutor

    Roel graduated from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with a BS degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. He is currently pursuing his Master’s at Berklee College of Music. He has been working as a tutor since 2010, tutoring everything from STEM to SAT/ACT. In that time he has learned different approaches related to presenting the material in a way that can be understood regardless of the level of the student. Roel mostly focuses on explaining the most important steps of a particular skill and then guiding the student to developing their own understanding of that skill. You can most likely find Roel practicing or composing jazz tunes in his free time.

  • Mierzhati Mushajiang
    Mierzhati Mushajiang Tutor

    Mierzhati graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He have been tutoring 1-1 and classroom programs with Summit since 2016. Mierzhati believes building great chemistry and connection with students is key to a successful tutoring session. In his spare time, he likes playing soccer, basketball and learning new languages.

  • Tope Fadiran
    Tope Fadiran Tutor

    Tope Fadiran has extensive experience one-on-one tutoring and classroom teaching Math and Verbal subjects for the ACT and SAT. She also tutors one-on-one for the SSAT, the ISEE, the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), and academic subjects. Tope enjoys the process of working with students to improve their performance and master a test, and has a consistent record of helping students, including already high-performing students, boost their scores. She was a doctoral student in Harvard’s History of Science department, where she also worked as a teaching assistant. A freelance writer and editor, Tope has had writing featured in outlets such as TIME.com, Salon.com, Rewire, and Religion Dispatches. Her interests include trivia (she was a Jeopardy! contestant in 2007), Duke basketball, and language learning. A Maryland native, she lives in Medford with her daughter.
