AP Subject Tutoring and Exam Prep

The movement toward test-optional admissions has intensified competition at selective colleges. Taking and performing well in AP courses help students demonstrate their readiness for the rigors of college-level work. Many institutions report that a student’s successful AP experience favorably impacts admission decisions.

Whether you’re looking for ongoing AP subject support throughout the school year or the opportunity to review with an expert and prepare for AP exams held in May, we can help.

How It Works

Your AP subject matter expert is a hand-picked tutor matched to your student’s learning style, personality, and goals.

One-on-one AP subject tutoring provides students with targeted support and additional instruction to help them excel. Students typically meet with their Summit AP tutor once per week for 90 minutes, though the exact timing and length of tutoring sessions is customized to individual student schedules and needs.

When your student works with Summit for one-on-one AP exam prep, they will learn insider strategies on how to master AP test-taking, approaches to answering the various types of test questions, a breakdown of how the points are awarded, effective skills for taking the AP exam as well as fill in any knowledge gaps. The most common AP exam prep program consists of four to six 90-minute weekly sessions leading up to exam day. The program builds confidence prior to the test, ensuring your student’s hard work studying throughout the year won’t be negated by exam-day nerves and test confusion.

Students will also take AP practice exams to boost their confidence and track their progress. These practice AP exams play a critical role in pinpointing areas for your student to focus on to score to their highest potential. The score report provides a detailed level of feedback, including what you did well and what you can do to improve your score, helping the tutor develop a playbook for a very targeted program.
