Michael received a BA in Film from Emerson College and an MA in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. Since joining Summit in 2006, he has held multiple management roles, consistently demonstrating a strong customer service focus and commitment to integrity. As Vice President of Academic Services, Michael oversees Tutor Services, Training, and Academic Client Services. He is a trusted test prep partner for schools and independent counselors, known for his dedication to supporting students and families.

Drew graduated cum laude from Duke University with degrees in Biology and Elementary Education before earning a PhD in Immunology from Tufts Medical School. After completing his postdoctoral fellowship, he discovered his passion for teaching as a Summit tutor, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after educators. Outside of Summit, Drew stays busy with his two young daughters, his two cats, and plenty of education-focused conversations with his wife, Carol, who is also an educator.

Whitney Longworth graduated cum laude from Connecticut College, where she was a selected scholar for the Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy. She began her career in client relations within the retail and entertainment industries before transitioning to education. As Senior Director of Partnerships at Summit, Whitney oversees the Partnerships team, working closely with schools and counselors to provide expert insights and support. She is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences and serves as an expert panelist on topics related to college admissions and test prep.

As Summit’s Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Training, Zdenka helps develop curriculum and training materials to enhance student learning. She joined Summit as a tutor in 2007 and has since contributed in various roles, including as an Adjunct Instructor in Biology at Cambridge College. She continues to tutor math and science, sharing her expertise with students. Zdenka holds a BA in Anthropology from Harvard, where she was awarded the Detur Prize and a Center for European Studies Grant. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring abstract algebra and number theory.

James graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a double major in Music and Political Science. While there, he volunteered as a math and reading tutor for the Berkeley Unified School District, sparking his passion for education. Since 2005, he has worked in test preparation and education and now oversees Summit’s Program Directors, guiding families through the testing and admissions landscape. Outside of Summit, he enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and listening to podcasts.

As Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Joshua oversees the development, implementation, and quality of Summit’s curriculum, instruction, and training. A graduate of Emerson College, Joshua spent three years as a Summit tutor and classroom teacher, preparing students for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and essay writing. With over a decade of tutoring experience, he has worked with students of all ages—from kindergarteners to senior citizens—teaching everything from test prep to technology to cooking.

While studying at Yale University, Charlie began providing personalized, in-home tutoring to students in the New Haven area. Recognizing the growing need for one-on-one test prep and tutoring, he founded Summit Educational Group in Wellesley, MA, in 1988. Charlie is a recognized expert in tutoring and test preparation, having authored highly regarded test prep books used by schools and tutoring companies nationwide. A frequent speaker and panelist, he shares his insights at education conferences, forums, and schools across the country.

Alex McBride earned her BA in English and Sociology from California Lutheran University before moving across the country to pursue an MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College. Before finding her place at Summit, Alex explored a variety of roles, gaining diverse experience along the way. Now, she serves as a Program Director, verbal tutor, and occasional proctor for Summit’s weekend practice tests. Outside of work, Alex enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with her dog and cat.

Angelina holds a BFA in Writing from the University of Maine at Farmington and an MS in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. She has worked in education since 2004, primarily as an English and adult education teacher. Angelina joined Summit in 2012 as a teacher and tutor and now serves as a Proctor Manager, supporting students on their educational journeys. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, fiber arts, and reading—all of which she has taught at some point as well!

Brian has been a Summit tutor since 2020 and now serves as a Program Director. He earned his degree in Philosophy from Boston University and spent 30 years in college textbook publishing, working in editing, marketing, and sales. His career took him to nearly every major college and university in the country. In his spare time, Brian enjoys reading, watching movies, following soccer, and cycling.

Catharine graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a degree in Computer Science. After a decade in the software industry, she took time off to raise her three children before reentering the workforce with a passion for education. She began tutoring for the SAT and ACT and mentoring students at Mass Bay Community College, guiding them toward academic success. Catharine joined Summit in 2020 as a Program Director, where she helps families navigate the test prep process. Outside of Summit, she enjoys long walks on the beach with her dog, Simon.

Chelsea holds a BA in History and Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Fairfield University. She has worked in education since 2014, serving as a special education teacher, tutor, and paraprofessional before joining Summit as a Program Director. Chelsea is passionate about supporting students and families in their educational journeys. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with her family, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Chloe began her education career in 2017 as a test prep tutor, helping hundreds of students prepare for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and SHSAT. She transitioned to her role as a Program Director in 2023. Chloe graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a BA in Communications and a minor in Fine Art.

Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics with secondary concentrations in Economics and French from Bates College. She has been tutoring the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and additional math subjects since 2010 and joined Summit in 2015 as a Program Director. Now serving as Director of Tutor Services, she oversees tutor training, development, and support to ensure students receive exceptional instruction. Outside of Summit, she enjoys volunteering with the Boston rowing community.

Lauren graduated cum laude from Salve Regina University with a degree in Global Business & Economics and a minor in Business Administration. Before joining Summit in 2016, she built strong relationships and honed her customer service and organizational skills in the retail industry. Now serving as Event Manager, Lauren oversees the planning and execution of events that support Summit’s mission and community engagement. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outside, reading historical fiction, and discovering new coffee shops.

Lisa joined Summit in 2008 as an SAT, SSAT, and ISEE tutor before transitioning into program management. Now serving as Director of Partnerships, she enjoys building relationships with families and educators while drawing on her experiences as both a tutor and a parent to design personalized programs for students. Lisa holds dual degrees in Sociology and Journalism with a minor in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Margaret graduated from the College of William & Mary with a degree in Mathematics and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School. She spent 12 years in financial marketing and sales before transitioning to education, where she tutored and taught in public schools for five years. Since 2020, she has been a Program Director at Summit, helping families navigate SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, and AP test prep. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, kayaking, and walking her dog.

Rob grew up in Northern California and earned a degree in Public Administration with a minor in Economics from Northern Arizona University. Coming from a family of educators, he has spent the past 20 years tutoring and mentoring students, helping them build confidence and reach their academic goals. Outside of work, Rob enjoys hiking, playing the drums, gardening, and challenging friends and family to board games.

After graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University with a degree in Political Science, Stephanie earned her master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She began her career at Summit as a verbal tutor and proctor before quickly advancing to Program Director. As a mother of three daughters, Stephanie has firsthand experience with the demands of high school coursework, standardized test preparation, and the college admissions process, making her a valuable resource for the families she supports.
