Meet Some of Our Expert Tutors

A Select Tutor since 2020, Aubrey specializes in test prep and academic tutoring in English, US History, Algebra, and Geometry. She tailors her approach to support students with test anxiety and executive functioning challenges. An adjunct professor at Dean College and Stonehill College, she holds an MFA from Florida Atlantic University and a BA from USC. Outside tutoring, she is a professional actress and certified in Restorative Yoga and Unarmed Stage Combat.

Dave earned BS degrees in Mathematics and Math Education, along with an MA in Education from the University of Connecticut. He has been tutoring with Summit since 2018 and brings over nine years of experience as both a tutor and high school math teacher. Passionate about helping students break down complex math concepts, Dave uses proven strategies to build mastery and confidence. Outside of tutoring, he is a marathon runner, kayaker, and music enthusiast.

Gerry joined Summit in 2022 and specializes in AP test prep, particularly for AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science, as well as SAT and ACT prep. He holds a B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University and an M.S. in Education from the University of Bridgeport. With 20 years of experience teaching high school Chemistry and Environmental Science, including at the AP level, Gerry has earned a reputation for his expert knowledge, engaging teaching style, and ability to connect with students.

Josh joined Summit in 2020 as a Select Tutor specializing in test prep for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE. With expertise in guiding students through math at all levels, including college-level courses, Josh ensures they build confidence and mastery. He graduated from Stonehill College in 2013 with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys watching the Red Sox and playing board games.

A Summit Tutor since 2019, Kevin specializes in SSAT, ISEE, SAT, ACT, AP Biology, and academic tutoring in math, science, English, and Chinese for students in grades 4–12. He creates a supportive, stress-free environment, helping students build confidence, master key concepts, and develop lifelong learning skills. By customizing his teaching methods to fit each student’s unique learning style, he makes lessons both engaging and effective. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys family time, movies, live music, cooking, and hiking.

A Select Tutor since 2012, Lauren specializes in test prep and English tutoring, helping students build confidence and master new skills with her patient, encouraging approach. She holds a BA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence. Outside tutoring, she enjoys reading, sewing, cooking, and traveling.

A Select Tutor at Summit since 2016, Leslie tutors the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE, helping students build confidence as they master test-taking skills and strategies. Before becoming a tutor and teacher, Leslie practiced law in Chicago before relocating to Connecticut to raise her family. She holds a BA in English from Williams College, a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and a Master’s in Secondary Education (English) from Fairfield University. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys cooking, attending theater and concerts, exploring art museums, reading, and spending time with her three grown daughters in NYC.

As Select Summit Tutor since 2020, Lily tutors the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE as well as Biology and English. She creates a supportive and encouraging environment while challenging students to reach their full potential. She earned her B.A. in Literature from Williams College and is a fluent Spanish speaker who aspires to work with bilingual children in her career. In her free time, she enjoys expressing her creativity through art, dance, and reading plenty of books.

A Select Tutor, Luke joined Summit in 2020 and excels in math and science tutoring, including AP, academic subjects, and test prep. With extensive experience since 2013, he has worked with students from middle school to college, helping them master complex concepts with practical problem-solving strategies. Currently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Columbia University, he also conducts research. Luke graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Chemistry and Physics from SUNY Geneseo and is passionate about helping students boost their test scores and academic performance.

A tutor since 2004, Marvin is a history subject expert specializing in test prep and AP and academic history. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a degree in English Literature and holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. After 12 years as a Program Director, he retired in 2024. With a background in law and retail management, Marvin brings a wealth of knowledge to his teaching. Outside tutoring, he is a proud grandfather, avid reader, and dedicated marathon runner.

A Select Tutor since 2015, Michael has decades of teaching experience working with learners of all ages. He specializes in test prep and academic tutoring in math, English, and history, as well as reading, religious studies, ESL/ELL, and biblical studies. He holds a BA in History from Franklin & Marshall and an MA from Brandeis, where he also completed PhD coursework. Outside tutoring, he enjoys family time, reading, cooking, podcasts, classic video games, and sports.

A Johns Hopkins graduate and Select Tutor since 2016, Mike specializes in test prep and AP/academic tutoring across all math and science subjects. Known for his patient, supportive approach, he helps students develop metacognitive awareness and logical reasoning skills. Outside tutoring, he enjoys reading, crosswords, languages, math, biking, and hiking. Before Summit, he worked in community organizing and public health research.

Graduating summa cum laude from Middlebury College, Paige has tutored with Summit since 2020, specializing in test prep and academic tutoring. She takes a supportive, enthusiastic approach, especially with students facing anxiety, confidence, or perfectionism. Pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology at Fordham, she researches mental health in the workplace. In her free time, she enjoys singing, musical theater, video games, and winter beach visits.

A Select Tutor since 2017, Paul specializes in test preparation, AP, and academic tutoring in math and science. With a relaxed approach and high standards, Paul holds a PhD in Philosophy from Boston University and teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Clark University and The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys rock climbing, reading, and the continued pursuit of truth.

A Select Tutor since 2015, Tessa specializes in test prep, AP, and academic tutoring in math and science. She simplifies complex topics, helping students build confidence and succeed. Originally from Scotland, she holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Aberdeen and conducted postdoctoral research at Boston University. Before Summit, she spent 10 years teaching at the Museum of Science. Outside tutoring, she enjoys hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and traveling with her family.
