Much like a scrimmage or dress rehearsal, taking practice tests under realistic, timed conditions removes the mystery of the test, reduces test anxiety, and increases confidence. Practice tests are a crucial component of any successful test prep program. They provide a starting baseline for test planning and help track progress toward score goals.

Complimentary Score Report & Consultation

After your student takes a proctored practice test with Summit, you and your student will receive a detailed score report as well as a complimentary consultation with one of our test prep experts who will guide you through a detailed analysis of the report, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and provide advice and guidance on the right testing plan for your student.

Students may take one free proctored practice test of each test type to serve as a diagnostic tool and help inform a testing plan. (Additional practice tests can be taken for a fee.) During your Summit tutoring program, students may take as many practice tests as needed.

Many Ways to Take a Proctored Practice Test with Summit

We provide multiple testing options so students can gain the practice and exposure to standardized testing that they need in the setting that works best for them.

Recommended

In-Person Proctor — Paper and Pencil Test — SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE

In-person paper and pencil testing most closely simulates the official testing experience. We offer in-person proctored practice tests at locations throughout Southern New England and New York. Several safety guidelines have been put in place to protect the health of our proctors and students.

Virtual Proctor — Paper and Pencil Test – SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE

If you’re not able to make it to one of our testing sites, take a paper and pencil test over Zoom with one of our virtual proctors. Our virtually proctored tests follow the same prescribed script and timing of the official tests, providing an excellent simulation of the actual test day experience.

Self-Proctor — Paper and Pencil Test – SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE

Self-proctoring is for students who cannot attend one of our scheduled practice test dates. For these paper and pencil practice tests, students can choose from two proctoring aids: (1) Summit’s online self-timer tool or (2) our video-based proctor recording. With this option, students get to experience the official testing format, structure, and timing, but not the live proctoring experience.

Online – Computer-Based Test – SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE

While we strongly recommend that students take their initial diagnostic test in a paper and pencil format, we provide computer-based testing as an option in cases where none of our other methods are feasible. The practice tests on our digital test platform mirror the timing and difficulty of official tests, providing an excellent simulation of the test day experience.
